What AI actually is
In plain English. No jargon, no acronyms, no pretending. By lunch you’ll understand it better than most people who talk about it for a living.
In plain English, we’ll show you what AI actually is, help you find where you fit, and get you building something real with it. You walk out understanding it, having used it, and a lot less worried.
Who’s running it
One of us explains it. One of us makes sure nobody’s left behind. That’s the whole secret to a room where no question is a stupid one.
I spent five years in finance, passed CFA Level 1, and run my own business, and I am not a “tech person”. I use AI every single day to stay on top of everything (ADHD and all), and I still ask Ben the “silly” questions. That’s exactly why I’m here: I’ll ask them for you, and I won’t let the room move on until it actually makes sense.
Six years in FinTech (banking, payments, treasury), and now I run several businesses at once, jumping between them all day. Honestly, AI is the only reason I stay on top of it and don’t drop things. I’ve wired it through every corner of my work and most of my life, this very website included. I’m the one who’s already made the mistakes, so on the day I just make the thing everyone’s talking about feel obvious. No jargon, no showing off.
Why it hasn’t clicked yet
The workshop is the day you switch tracks.
Is this you?
What the day actually is
Not a sales pitch. Not a lecture full of acronyms. A genuine, honest orientation to the thing everyone’s talking about, and then you use it yourself.
In plain English. No jargon, no acronyms, no pretending. By lunch you’ll understand it better than most people who talk about it for a living.
Where the hype ends and reality begins. What these tools genuinely can’t do, so you can stop worrying about the things that aren’t coming.
There are levels to AI, from “type a question” to things only engineers touch. We map them all, and show you honestly where today sits.
You don’t need to become technical. You need to know which level is yours, and how to stand on it confidently. That’s what you leave with.
This isn’t a talk you sit through. We’ll put the right tool in front of you and, together, build something real with it. Fully guided, no experience needed. You leave having done it, not just heard about it.
What you leave with
Enough to explain it to a friend or a colleague without notes, and to spot the hype a mile off.
Which level of AI is yours, and exactly how to start using it in your own life or work.
Not watched a demo. Actually made something yourself, fully guided, and understood how.
The worry comes down a notch in the first half hour, and keeps going all day.

Before the day
One thing to sort before the day: the hands-on build needs your own Claude Pro subscription (about £18/month). We’ll send simple homework so you’re all set up and ready to go.
Good questions
Not even slightly. If you can use email, you can do this day. The whole thing is built for people who aren’t technical.
Perfect. That’s exactly who this is for. You’ll start from the very beginning and leave having built something with it.
We choose the right one for you on the day. The only thing to set up beforehand is your own Claude Pro subscription (about £18/month), and we’ll send simple homework so it’s ready.
There’s an hour to step out and grab something you like. Coffee is on us through the day; food you sort yourself.
Deliberately small. It’s an intimate room so nobody gets lost, everybody gets attention, and no question goes unanswered.
It is. That’s why the room is small and the price is what it is. You’re getting the very first, most hands-on version of this day.
If you run a business or work for a charity, a day of professional training like this is usually a legitimate expense. Check with your accountant, but most people can put it through the books.
Tickets are non-refundable. The room is small and places are limited, so once you’ve booked your spot is held for you. If you genuinely can’t make it, get in touch and we’ll see if someone can take your place.

Coming soon
This day is about understanding AI and using it with confidence. If what you really want is to build a proper app or product to sell to others, that’s a second, more technical bootcamp we’re putting together now. Leave your email and you’ll be first to know when dates land.
